Election officials in North Carolina and Michigan are investigating the Elon Musk backed America PAC after receiving complaints that the group is misleading people with regard to their voter registration status. The PAC is accused of running a website that offers visitors the opportunity to "Register to Vote". Voters who live in non-competitive states such as New York or Montana are directed to their state's voter registration site. If the user is from a battleground state then the site collects their personal information and then presents them with a thank you page instead of directing them to their state's voter registration site.
