Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth apparently wants to take his talents to the U.S. Senate. The news outlet Puck reported on Sunday that Hegseth wants Tennessee Sen. Marsha Blackburn to appoint him to fill her Senate seat after she wins the gubernatorial election in the state next week"a win that is widely expected to happen"and thus vacates her seat in Congress' upper chamber. Being a senator would be a launching pad for Hegseth's larger reported ambition: becoming president of the United States. |
