The Onion has sold to a new Chicago-based firm called Global Tetrahedron, G/O Media CEO Jim Spanfeller announced Thursday, TheWrap has learned.

To be honest, when I first saw this story, I thought it was an Onion parody, based upon the name of the receiving company.
