#2 Hi Tor!
I did-int watch it at first, mainly because of the way it was hyper-merch financed, but then I did, and caught up. I was pleasantly surprised... ok, shocked, actually, mostly at how spot on the theology written into the scripts was done.
The writing and acting got better as it went along, and the most of seasons Episodes were quite good.
I'm a bit concerned at details just in this clip, though... but it may sort itself out in the Episode, ie:
JC didn't carry freaking bullwhip hidden in a blanket to the Temple intending to whup someone's arse, but rather he became angry while there at the merch (again with the merch!) being sold, and the moneychangers on the Temple's holy premises.
And the quick bit at the end of the clip with JC at the Last Roundup, er, I mean Supper... holding up a big circular sheet of bread and tearing it. That's possible, there were surely bakers that produced such.
But theologically, the little round wafers of bread that Catholics and others use in Communion services today harken straight back to the worship of the Sun God Apollo, which was still going on in JC's time.
So I kinda doubt that's what it really looked like. It may though also have been a Producer decision to not freak out his Catholic viewers. His Protestant ones for the most part would never know the difference anyway.
