Suddenly? It's what happens when you lose a job. Generally, you get insurance through the month you were terminated and then it's on you to pay for COBRA.

Just as intended.
Every time a federal worker suffers a maga shaman gets his horns.
"We want the bureaucrats to be traumatically affected," Vought said in a video revealed by ProPublica and the research group Documented in October. "When they wake up in the morning, we want them to not want to go to work, because they are increasingly viewed as the villains. We want their funding to be shut down ... Generally, Federal employees don't get illegally mass terminated.

Generally you don't get fired and rehired and then fired again in the same month.
Generally OPM is not ruled by autocratic dictatorships that change the rules on a whim.
