Really sad. The deaths were quick, but guess is that knew they were doomed for about a minute of free-fall to the sea floor.
Titan sub victims likely realized their fate between 48 and 71 seconds before deaths nypost.com
Just saw the detail that they probably couldn't ditch the emergency weights to surface because of the steep dive. Extremley poor design. The guy who created it was clearly out of his depth (unintentional pub, but I'm leaving it!).
