Dad Jumps Overboard off Cruise Ship to Save His Daughter

Multiple news agencies are reporting that a father jumped off a Disney Cruise ship after his daughter fell from a railing on the ship's fourth floor. Both were rescued within minutes.

I remember way back in ancient times when there were newspapers, the one day the page was split between 2 articles. First one was about a father running into a burning building to save his child, the other was about a father beating his child to death.
I'm glad this guy is on the right side.

Looks like no one read the link on how his daughter ended up overboard. He should be billed the rescue costs.

I did read the link, and other articles about this incident.

From the cited article ...

So, was the Dad a Hero, or an Idiot, or a child abuser?

My current opinion is definitely not the first of those three ...

Guy's an idiot but who wouldn't jump off a boat to save their child? An -------.

Navy SEALS played this game six months ago, both died, nobody questioned their character.

OK, so, now I am settling on the opinion that he was an idiot for placing his daughter in that precarious position. But I will give him props for diving in to save her.

But wow, imo, a friggin' idiot.
