The former spokesperson for Israeli PM Benjamin Netanyahu, Eli Feldstein, said that immediately following the October 2023 surprise attack by Palestinian armed groups to seize Israeli hostages for a prisoner swap, the Israeli leader instructed him to figure out how the premier could evade responsibility for the catastrophic security breach.

Former Netanyahu spokesperson Eli Feldstein, who faces trial for allegedly leaking classified information to the press, made the explosive accusation during an extensive interview with Israel's Kan news channel.

Critics have repeatedly accused Benjamin Netanyahu of refusing to accept blame for the deadliest attack in Israel's history. But little is known about Netanyahu's behavior in the days immediately following the attack, while the premier has consistently resisted an independent state inquiry.

Speaking to Kan, Feldstein said "the first task" he received from Netanyahu after 7 Oct 2023, was to stifle calls for accountability.

"He asked me, What are they talking about in the news? Are they still talking about responsibility?'" Feldstein said. "He wanted me to think of something that could be said that would offset the media storm surrounding the question of whether the prime minister had taken responsibility or not."

He added that Netanyahu looked "panicked" when he made the request. Feldstein said he was later told by people in Netanyahu's close circle to omit the word "responsibility" from all statements.

Palestinian armed groups conducted the surprise attack on Israel on 7 Oct 2023 to seize as many hostages as possible in order to conduct a prisoner swap for approximately 5,250 Palestinians held in Israeli military custody (40 women, 170 children, and 1,320 classified as "administrative detainees," held without charge or trial).

Thanks to the erudite and calm-headed Mossad Director David Barnea, several prisoner swaps were conducted in Nov and Dec 2023 before Netanyahu initiated the Nakba to collectively punish the Palestinians and make way for a Greater Israel by ethnically cleansing Gaza and the West Bank.

The "Crime Minister" is still on trial for corruption charges, even though he recently begged Israel President Isaac Herzog for a pardon. An international arrest warrant issued by the ICC for crimes against humanity remains active for Benjamin Netanyahu and the Istanbul Public Prosecutor issued arrest warrants for him and 32 other Israelis accused of committing war crimes. An indictment is merely an allegation. All defendants are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law or an international tribunal at the Hague.

*** Israeli Settlers Attack House in West Bank and Kill Defenseless Sheep ***

"Rabid Israeli settlers attacked a Palestinian home in the south of the Israeli-occupied West Bank overnight, breaking in and killing sheep. This was the latest in a surge of attacks by settlers against Palestinians in the territory in recent months.

Israeli police arrested five miscreants.

The maniacs killed three defenseless sheep and injured four more, smashed a door and a window of the home, and fired tear gas inside, sending three Palestinian children under the age of four to the hospital."

*** UK: Ex-Senior Military Officers Call On PM Keir Starmer to Cut All Military Collaboration with Israel ***

Four senior former army officers have written to UK PM Keir Starmer calling for a full arms embargo on Israel and a suspension of involvement with any Israel-linked defense firms, calling on sanctions on the Israeli government to go further.

"Now is not the time to return to business as usual with the Israeli government."

Among the letter's signatories was John Deverell, who served in the British army for more than three decades. He was also defense attache in Saudi Arabia and Yemen, including at the time of the 11 Sep 2001 terror attacks. The other signatories were Andrew Graham, the former director general of the UK defense academy; Peter Currie, a retired major general, and Charlie Herbert, a former senior army commander in Afghanistan.

In Sep 2025, the UK announced that it was banning Israelis from enrolling at the Royal College of Defense Studies, a prestigious military academy.

The UK was accused of complicity in war crimes after carrying out near daily reconnaissance flights over Gaza during the war. The flights stopped after the so-called "ceasefire."
