A long list of prominent conservatives have referred to leftists and Democrats as dumb, stupid, incompetent, crazy, and insane. In 2007, Ann Coulter wrote the book "If Democrats Had Any Brains, They'd Be Republicans." Both Rush Limbaugh and President Trump regularly referred to Democrats as "Dumbocrats." More recently, the leader of the House Freedom Caucus called Democrats "the crazy party," and JD Vance framed the contrast between the parties as "common sense vs. crazy." Matt Margolis titled a piece in PJ Media this year "Democrats Are Too Stupid to Heed This Warning," and posited that somewhere between the 1990s and today, the Democratic Party lost its mind. Some of this stuff gets a chuckle, but conservatives need to be careful with this narrative. read more

Imagine starting a fire and then standing by and filming with your mobile phone while a firefighter is engulfed in flames. That is one of the scenes emerging from France's latest wave of unrest. Elsewhere, rioters have doused a teacher in petrol, looted businesses, and set vehicles and schools on fire. The fact that many of the rioters are looting while waving Algerian and Palestinian flags is just a symptom of a much larger, unspoken failure. The ostensible grievance is the condition of French education. The proposed remedy, apparently, is fewer teachers and more ashes.

An editorial in the Chicago Tribune laments what might have been had "Kenneth C. Griffin not become so frustrated with the state of Illinois as to move himself and much of the financial company he founded, Citadel, to Miami." It turns out President Trump's promised "mass deportations" won't require dragnets and cattle cars after all. This summer ICE racked up the largest numbers of arrests of illegal aliens ever recorded, with more on the way. And all without the theatrics that culminated in the shooting of two Americans by DHS officers in Minneapolis. The intentionally provocative approach of ousted DHS Secretary Kristi Noem and her field commander, Border Patrol agent Greg Bovino, was thrilling for the more excitable elements on both the Right and the Left. One side wanted revenge for Biden's and DHS Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas's truly lawless and harmful border policies, while the anti-borders side was practically giddy with euphoria at having their fantasies of impending fascism seemingly confirmed.

" Ever hear of Mark Houck?"

No."

He got into a minor altercation with an abortion clinic volunteer. The volunteer yelled at his 12 year old son and Houck shoved the man who t then tried to press charges against Houck. Local authorities declined any prosecution. So, the Feds conducted a pre-dawn, guns drawn raid and arrested him and charged him with violating the FACE Act. He was acquitted and then successfully sued the DOJ for civil damages. Lemme guess, you don't view that as lawfare.
