Putting your quote by Lindsey Graham about Trump into context, it was on CNN in response to Trump wanting to ban Muslims from entering the US.

Trump had recently suggested an overall ban on Muslims until the US had a better way of vetting terrorists.

He did later modify his position to only countries that had ties to terrorists.

Trumps comment was based on religion and not their race.

Just because a reporter doesn't give away their source who told them something, that does not mean it was never said.

They are declaring it was said.

They are just not saying who said it because they are neutral.

However, anyone who reads the article will come away not knowing who it was, thus "unknown" to the reader.

Politico worded it in such a way, they know who it is but are not letting the reader know.

Read the wording carefully.

I think it is becoming more commonly believed that Biden was already showing signs of mental decline before he was elected.

He turned into a basement campaigner, for crying out loud, and even before COVID his public exposure was being carefully limited.

His handlers certainly appeared to keep him on a short leash.

I doubt Politico considered that possibility.

Gaffes are more like a verbal blunder or slip of the tongue or sometimes even a "Freudian slip."

I've read other sources and the part that is "unknown" was exactly who told Politico and not that the quote never really happened.

Tell yourself that means it never really happened if you want. I don't care.

It was indeed published. Politico printed "One Democrat who spoke to Obama recalled Obama saying, "Don't underestimate Joe's ability to f*** things up."

Some places say "an Aide" and others say "unknown Democrat".

But the people celebrating in the streets would not be the ones deciding how the United States responds to Iran.

We are a constitutional republic.

Those decisions would be made by the president and other elected officials and not by a street demonstration or an opinion poll.

In modern times, few countries deserve that level of destruction as much as Iran.

Regardless of what you believe about the result, a lot of Americans still suspect that something was wrong with the 2020 election.

That distrust cannot all be dismissed as something Trump created. The election was held in the middle of COVID, voting procedures changed in many states, and mail-in ballots were used on an unprecedented nationwide scale.

That unusual combination made many people suspicious, right or wrong.

And frankly, a lot of people already believed Democrats were willing to cheat.

The sudden expansion of a voting method that had long been viewed with suspicion only reinforced the belief that they now had greater opportunity to do so.

I would guess not.

However, Vance would immediately become president and commander in chief, and he might very well carry out Trump's intentions.

Just like the bombing of Pearl Harbor became the catalyst for a massive national response, Trump's assassination could become the catalyst for measures that previously would have been considered politically impossible.

The reaction to his death could accomplish what he was unable to do while alive.
