#9 Squeezed dry, of no further use, time to pick up that swag bag.
(Reference "Donald Trump Sends Venezuelan Opposition Leader Away with Trump-Branded Swag Bag After She Hands over Her Nobel Peace Prize" at people.com for a lovely photo of a Trump-branded quid pro quo.)

"These changes have come as Americans have witnessed ICE agents across the country practice excessive force, warrantless searches or arrests, racial profiling, and wrongful detentions. A new report Monday revealed that an ICE agent in Minnesota had accidentally discharged his weapon in a hotel room - nearly killing the person in the room next door." "The disclosures include syllabuses containing required courses and daily schedules for ICE basic training. A July 2025 syllabus shows recruits at that time received 584 hours of training over 72 days. A syllabus from this month, however, shows training reduced to eight hours per day over 42 days, which amounts to approximately 336 hours. That would be a roughly 40 percent decrease in training hours." www.nytimes.com

CORIOLANUS ... A small bookend on your #4: As World War 2 raged and the US dithered (Republicans tried killing Lend-Lease as late as spring 1941), a half-brother of mine left his native US, traveled north and enlisted in the Royal Canadian Dragoons. Wearing the black beret and springbok badge, he definitely had himself a war. He had the shakes the rest of his life, but never questioned why an American should enlist in a Canadian outfit. "Longest undefended border in the world," he often said enthusiastically with a smile. I'm not glad he's dead now, but seeing this he might be.

Another of Old Yeller's "solutions" for a nonexistent problem. The senescent grifter cannot read a room. "Go away" doesn't sink in, apparently, as childish obsessions hold sway.
