I live in low income HUD subsidized low income housing, in a city where rents have skyrocketed. To be poor in America today is to pretty much lose one's status as citizen and adopt a new status, citizen refugee.

The Republican Party has has a plan for many, many years to cut taxes for the rich, and add to the burden of the poor, until the "great day" arrives when America is bankrupt and the rich can take everything including housing, health care, and those things that FDR instituted like social security, away from the poor and the powerless.

So you pay a tariff, an add-on fee, to a company that has produced that thing with non union labor in china, and life goes on. Has anyone noticed American manufacturing heading back to our shores? It was the ridiculous Republican Party of the Republican Nixon that "opened china to the west" exactly to do what happened, kill the power of American unions and make a fortune for the investor class. Trump is not going to stop that gravy train any time soon.

And when a massive hurricane blows into Miami, crosses to the Gulf, then reverses course and goes back over Florida...the devastation will be paid for by those people who invested in Florida real estate, and Trump.

Putin did the same thing, but after awhile Russian courts were so totally in Putin's control he didn't have to pretend anything at all to anyone. He was Deal Leader and that was that.

Would that the entire US had similar laws, that let people over 70 make their own decisions about their lives and how much suffering they are willing to live with. The Catholic Church is against death with dignity laws, including for those suffering with painful incurable deadly diseases, because, of course, we own the Priest down the street our suffering.
