Just hours after President Donald Trump said U.S. soldiers should use America's cities as "training grounds," federal law enforcement officials on Tuesday night descended upon an apartment complex in Chicago where witnesses say they broke down residents' doors, smashed furniture and belongings, and dragged dozens of them " including children " into U-Haul vans. Ebony Sweets Watson, who lives across the street from the raided building, told the Chicago Sun-Times that she saw children, some of whom weren't even wearing clothes, dragged out of the building by ICE agents and then placed into U-Haul vans. "It was heartbreaking to watch," she said. "Even if you're not a mother, seeing kids coming out buck naked and taken from their mothers, it was horrible."

Police in west suburban Broadview are investigating the assault of a local journalist by federal immigration authorities. CBS Chicago Reporter Asal Rezaei said she was at the ICE processing facility in suburban Broadview Sunday morning to report on the scene and was preparing to leave since there were no protesters. That's when a masked ICE agent inside the fencing shot a pepper ball from about 50 feet away, hitting Rezai's truck, which had its driver's side window down, "causing the chemical agents to engulf the inside," CBS Chicago reported. "An ICE agent took a direct shot at my car today. Absolutely unprovoked," Rezaei said on social media. "My window was open and chemicals went all over my face. Been puking for two hours."

Donald Trump's tariffs have triggered an explosion in cargo theft across the US as organized gangs target truck drivers. Drugmakers, clothes manufacturers and electronics companies are grappling with "unprecedented" numbers of crimes, which have surged by a third year-on-year, according to the boss of a supply chain security company.

Wisconsin business owner Bill Berrien, a supporter of President Donald Trump, ended his Republican campaign for governor on Friday, days after it was reported that he followed numerous sexually explicit accounts online, including a nonbinary pornography performer. Berrien, a former Navy SEAL and one of three announced prominent Republican candidates, issued a lengthy statement saying "I had no idea that running for political office could be almost as dangerous" as "hunting down war criminals in Bosnia."
