Actually I think "by-products" like plastic and such are the best thing about them. Their introduction was/is life-changing for our species. We need to find cleaner ways to extract those without depending on them for fuel. I feel the same about nuclear power, too. There are far more positives to it than negatives.

The cost isn't only what's paid for the chunk of whatever that causes it to move the whatever that is making whatever result happen for our living pleasure.
