Consumer confidence rebounded in May after five straight months of declines as President Trump dialed back his aggressive stance on tariffs against China. The latest index reading from the Conference Board was 98 in May, well above the 85.7 seen in April and the 87.1 economists had expected. The expectations index surged off its 13-year low seen in April, reaching 72.8 May, far above the 55.4 in the month prior. This marked the largest month-over-month increase for that metric since May 2009. read more

Amazon CEO Andy Jassy told shareholders during a virtual meeting Wednesday (May 21) that the tariffs the President Donald Trump administration imposed on imported goods have not affected sales. "We also haven't yet seen any meaningful average selling price increases," Jassy said, according to a Wednesday Reuters report. "When you have 2 million sellers, they're not all going to take the same action." read more

WASHINGTON (AP) " The number of Americans filing unemployment claims last week fell slightly as businesses continue to retain employees despite growing economic uncertainty over U.S. trade policy. Applications for jobless benefits fell by 2,000 to 227,000 for the week ending May 17, the Labor Department said Thursday. That's pretty close to the 230,000 new applications analysts forecast. read more

The number of OnlyFan creators in 2020 was ~450K. By the end of 2024, that number had risen to over 4M with about 50% of them in the US. So, while the US jobs market and real economy suffered under Biden's incompetence - the jobs for sex workers (both male and female) boomed. This was fueled by a huge demographic of incel liberals unable to meet women in the real world due to social anxiety, fear of catching covid, and their grotesque physical appearances and personalities.

For generations, colleges around the U.S. fueled local economies, creating jobs and bringing in students to shop and spend. read more

Wrong again ------- - but at least you are trying to have actual facts this time rather than just lying like you normally do.

"First, during the peak of the subprime foreclosure crisis in late 2008, large central cities, on average, experienced higher levels of REO per mortgageable property than suburban areas."

Case closed - you are wrong.

Things that are already generally accepted as facts should not be questioned. It just makes the person asking look dumb and wastes the time of the person responding.

"3. Overheated Housing Market
The overheated housing market before the financial crisis was stoked by unscrupulous lending to unqualified borrowers and the reselling of loans through financial instruments called mortgage-backed securities. Banks bought insurance against those mortgages, creating a house of cards built on a foundation of homebuyers who could not afford them."

"Today's Democratic Party represents corporate America, their policies are the same as they were during Clinton's administration."

LOL.
During Clinton, the majority of the Dems supported tariffs and opposed free trade and NAFTA
During Clinton, the Dems were against illegals as the unions didn't want the wage destroying impacts
During Clinton, the Dems were against Gay-Marriage, forget about the current trans insanity
During Clinton, the Dems wanted to lock up criminals - remember the 'super predator' comments?
During Clinton, the Dems wanted to collect the 'peace dividend' by shrinking the military
During Clinton, the Dems wanted reform the welfare state by adding work requirements

Either your memory is total ---- or you are completely dishonest. The Dems took a complete about face on all of these issues - and they are being punished at the ballot box for it.

"Americans are tired of that."

The Democrats lost on your progressive, far left platform. The GOP won on MAGA - which is basically the Clinton platform. So, you should rethink that.

"We want what nations like Canada, Australia, and European nations have. Our tax dollars going help Americans."

Australia is collapsing in line with China's collapse. Their huge string of positive GDP growth was fueled by being the natural resource provider to China. Those days are ending and the Australian housing market is starting to collapse as a result. The advantage that Australia has is that the people have resisted the influx of illegals and other foreign workers which collapse wage structures.

As for the EU and Canada - both are dying and falling further and further behind the US in GDP. Canada is utterly reliant on the US with 20% of their economy being linked to US trade - and those days are ending. Europe has killed itself by killing entrepreneurship. They don't have a single tech company of note. They have morphed into a theme park for middle class American tourists.

"Unfortunately conservatives have fallen beholden to oligarchs.

Keep telling yourself that ------- - and be continually surprised why the working class is voting GOP.
