US President Joe Biden waded into fraught political territory Tuesday with an off-the-cuff remark about political opponent Donald Trump, saying that to block the Republican presidential candidate's radical proposals "we got to lock him up." "Politically lock him up," Biden quickly added, after some applause by the crowd at a New Hampshire campaign office.
"I expect the Republicans to toss out the filibuster as one of their first orders of business in the new year."
If so, it'll be on their heads then, and they'll regret it when the pendulum eventually swings in the other direction. Anything that Democrats would have passed previously without the filibuster would have been moot anyway.
