Trump effectively used the same strategy he did in 2016, trolling his opponents into calling him the N-word (Nazi) and the R-word (racist). Trump supporters reminded people how Democrats often used this type as hyperbole in the past, including against Mitt Romney, so they just tuned it out as noise.

This reminds me of when I worked at a telecom company many years ago. Someone called in claiming to be a police officer and requesting personal information about a customer. You got some of your facts wrong, but I'm not going to waste my time engaging with all the minutia. I've made that mistake in the past with the aliases mentioned above, since they just went around in circles deflecting to different points rather than acknowledging they might have been wrong on even one.

Everyone who voted Biden in the 2024 primary knew that Harris would be the one to replace him if he were unable to continue. I don't believe a significant number of people were actually bothered by this.
