Republicans have created a perilous state for medical providers, afraid they'll be arrested.

Hell, Texas will arrest anyone who provides transportation or travel arrangements for a woman get an abortion in another state even if they've been denied a medically necessary abortion in Texas.

Some Republican run states have made it a felony for counselors to tell women their options, in state or out of state.

Alabama made even telling a woman she can go to another state for an abortion illegal under an arcane 1896 law.

If we are going to accept immigrants they need to assimilate.

In our history, most adults who've immigrated from non-English speaking countries could only assimilate so much and handle only so much English. Even in Michigan's Upper Peninsula, for instance, communities of different nationalities lived together in their own cities. One all Finnish, another all Swedish, another all Norwegian, etc etc.

It's usually immigrant's U.S.-born/young kids who assimilate into our culture and speak English fluently.

Even today, new immigrants stick with their own. This is nothing new.

Like the 30-something DACA recipient who came to the U.S. as a 5-year-old and was in the middle of her citizenship process. And all the others pulled from their cars or who ICE arrested while renewing their green cards or appearing in immigration court, etc etc.
