I have said before pardoning his son seems almost understandable as a father.

However, the 11 years is the condemning part but of course people will frame the conversation in such a way to only talk about the "pardoning his son" aspect and not the whole story.

Sure...there will be the far right fanatics getting bent out of shape but the people I've talked to they totally understand for many reasons.

Trump probably said he'd like to see Joe do this to get the issue over and done. Not to mention the possible quid pro quo involved getting charges dropped off of Trump. Again...to let Trump have time to pursue more important matters than court cases.
