Those who brought about this action against Harvard (and other leading research universities) must have read the recent "New Yorker" article about Harvard's dealings with Anti-Semitism, student protests and the wide-ranging research performed at the university. One possible result of this action could be the closure of many colleges and university, and at those remaining the collapse of pure or applied research on campuses nationwide.

In 2008 the CMBS (commercial mortgage backed securities) market crashed completely. Why? The buyers of the most senior bond tranches, those farthest from risk of default, started toe actually read the prospectuses issued in advance of the sales of new CMBS issues. Those investors were shocked at what they saw, and started to forcefully push back on the loan underwriting and the underwriting of bond issues. The result was the the CMBS market ceased to issue new paper for more than a year, and it took about five years for the market to correct itself.

The NYS pension funds which bought TSLA shares need to (1) bite the bullet and sell ALL of their TSLA holdings, and book the losses; (2) dump any private-issue bonds they bought at the time of the buyout of Twitter (the losses on that paper have already been booked); and (3) talk loud and long about how by any reasonable measure shares of TSLA are over-priced by approx. 8-10 times, when those shares are compared to shares of any other auto maker. The institutional investors have to get out, explain clearly why they are getting out, and start the process of the decline of the price of TSLA share. Doing so will hurt Leon Skum more than any other action which might be taken, short of shooting him on Fifth Avenue...

The investment firms Vanguard, Blackrock and State Street are holders #2,3 and 4 of TSLA shares. The respective portfolio managers at each firm with TSLA holdings must be more than a bit annoyed that their respective investments have shared space with Nazi fanboys, all of whom have large mouths and small packages...

Riddle me this, Fishy: why is it that for years GOPers have denied funds for the modernization of IRS systems, equipment and software, yet now it's a great idea for unelected, unvetted strangers to pry into sensitive data on millions of Americans, and try to make sense of COBOL code about which they appear to know nothing? A follow-up: a role of government is to deliver that which is necessary, but impossible for individuals to provide for themselves (e.g., interstate highways, public schools, the US Military, etc.) and so why is it acceptable to those whose hands are on the levers of power to decide what others may or may not deem to be a necessary function of government? Asking for your fellow citizens, many of whom disagree with your personal perspective...
