Are you self-employed at all? If so, it's particularly important. The worst I've seen was when someone profited A LOT MORE than he told ACA he would, and owed over $7,000. Very ugly.

For the record, I never got a dime of subsidy, and the general advice to folks like that is to get BETTER policies OFF the "Marketplace".

But I always chose a plan from the Marketplace. Why? It was an insurance policy on an insurance policy. If either myself or my bride lost our ability to produce income, the subsidies would kick in. They never did, but I'd do it the same way 10 out of 10 times.
