The October 1967 antiwar march on Washington seems to me, in retrospect, the point at which opposition to the Vietnam War began entering the mainstream of political awareness in this country. It was not organized by apathetic folk, obviously; nor was it the product of politicians' actions, because the vast majority of them followed but did not really help set trends. The organizers were just that: organizers, a special breed often schooled and always inspired by the ongoing Civil Rights Revolution. From there, the momentum built.

I sense something of a similar dynamic swinging into motion yet again.
