A man I knew served in the US Army in Europe during WW2, rising in rank through combat service from private to captain. He was a hard bitten guy with the proverbial tender heart, a real student of people. He first encountered the Russians at the Elbe River, which would make it late April 1945. In Trump's America, all of us are not created equal. Two points:

1. Unless there's persuasive evidence to the contrary, it may be best to assume the files have been diddled with during the time they were going to be released, then not, the ongoing coverup, and now (coverup still in place).

2. The House Republicans must have produced one helluva whip count on the upcoming vote, with support for Trump's coverup position eroding as in-district voters grabbed their pitchforks and lit up the torches

"Welcoming the stranger" is not a place; it's an attitude.
My family often assisted people trudging north in the Sonoran Desert border country.
We didn't invite them into the house to spend the night.
But we did make up sandwiches, get them something to drink, refill their canteens, dispense some dinero.
Because they were people caught in one helluva crunch and they could use help.
It didn't seem like a lot to ask or a lot to do.
In fact ,it seemed to me at the time exactly like what it seems like now: the bare minimum.

Trump was also slapping ----- up about Massie remarrying 1 1/2 years after his wife of 31 years died. Very low. Even for a yuuuge human disaster like Trump: a constantly whiney, thrice married, adjudicated sexual abuser.
