The "official" number (not verifiable by two independent reliable sources) might be 3%, but if your rent jumps 10% and food costs rise 20%, and your healthcare costs increase 100%, the "real" squeeze on your budget is far greater, as Trumpy's CPI (who even knows if it is real?) doesn't always capture the full impact on consumers.

Only a combined effort between Congress and state legislatures can repeal an amendment and, even then, the process is long and complicated. Repealing an amendment requires a two-thirds majority in Congress and a three-fourths majority of ratification by the states.

I suppose it's quite joyful to be an Orc this year.

But there is a lot to be angry about.

Costs of living going thru the roof. Healthcare costs out of control. A lawless President in denial of reality and bumbling and sleeping thru his own disaster. People dying. Civilians are being killed in cold blood in our names. We are abandoning our allies and our common sense. Gaza is a disaster. The people of Ukraine are being toyed with and left to be killed and ravaged by Putin's hordes. Lives and families are being destroyed.

Not feeling very Joyful and Triumphant yet this holiday season.
