Re 45
Haven't read the book. Sounds interesting.
My first thought having reviewed it.
Dr Morris was raised Christian (Mormon). No wonder he rejected that nonsense.
I also see that highly regarded specialists in that field disagree with his conclusions and had alternate (physiological) explanations.
When those raised as (tainted by) Christianity speak of the soul they have a particular belief in mind.
Overview
According to the Bible, the soul (Hebrew: nephesh, Greek: psych") is the entire living person"body, mind, emotions, and will"formed when God breathes life into dust, making humans living beings, not just immortal spirits. It's the seat of desires and consciousness, connecting the physical to the spiritual, and while it can cease to exist (the "soul who sins shall die"), Christians believe faith in Christ offers hope for eternal life through resurrection, reuniting soul and body.
Sorry. Not still buying it. We have misinterpreted our place in the universe for a long long time. Sometimes on purpose. To control us.
But if we speak differently of the soul such as a force or form of energy I can understand and possibly accommodate that as a possible theory.
But reuniting our "spiritual energy" with our actual bodies? Sorry. Not buying it. I don't care if the Egyptians did believe it to be true for 3000 years or not. I can clearly see how that has worked out for them.
All the evidence we have accumulated so far indicates that this universe does not work that way.
When we die it will not be possible to hold our identity as we know it. There will be nothing to contain it. If anything our life force goes back to the "source". Which may just be the underlying quantum field which is the foundation of everything. Apparently.
And btw. Those kids did not "die". Or they would not have been able to share their experiences with the living. Oh. And btw. We still cannot even define what Life is. So good luck explaining what happens after it.
Islamophobia does not exist.

Thank you big dummy. You just proved that it does. At least with you.
You equating the entire religion of Islam"practiced by over 1.5 billion people"with an existential threat is a form of prejudice or Islamophobia in itself.
