We all live on the same planet. California does business with different countries all over the world.
1. A free press worldwide holds leaders accountable, exposes corruption, and provides reliable information, which helps foster stability and prevents misinformation.
2. A free press worldwide supports U.S. political and economic interests by strengthening democracies and upholding the rule of law worldwide.
3. Promoting freedom of speech and expression worldwide helps prevent the spread of autocratic tactics that treat the press as an enemy, which can directly affect American journalists and interests abroad.
4. Defending press freedom overseas is considered a key U.S. foreign policy interest by many, rather than just a moral obligation. Proponents argue that supporting independent media fosters stable, rights-respecting societies that are less prone to conflict and reliable democratic allies.
Ok.. I just have you four good reasons. Can you give me four good reasons we should NOT support freedom of the press worldwide?
Do your research.
