Yemen Under Constant Attack

The Honorable US District Judge Dale Ho of the Southern District of New York:

"TPS holders from Yemen are not killers, leeches, and entitlement junkies. They are ordinary, law-abiding people who have been granted status to be here because the Government has repeatedly determined, in accordance with the TPS statute, that Yemen is subject to an ongoing armed conflict, and that, due to that conflict, requiring them to return would pose a serious threat to their safety. That determination is subject to periodic review and can be changed. But Congress has, by statute, established a process for such review, which the Secretary failed to adhere to here. For the foregoing reasons, Plaintiffs Motions to Postpone the effective date of the termination of Yemen s TPS designation are GRANTED."

It's not our job to take in people from across the globe who happen to live in bad countries.

I guarantee these people are welfare leeches and they're confirmed entitlement junkies. They actually think they're entitled to just come live here.

Hopefully this is another lower court ruling the administration just ignores like many more they already have.

Not like the brazen giant of Greek fame,
With conquering limbs astride from land to land;
Here at our sea-washed, sunset gates shall stand
A mighty woman with a torch, whose flame
Is the imprisoned lightning, and her name
Mother of Exiles. From her beacon-hand
Glows world-wide welcome; her mild eyes command
The air-bridged harbor that twin cities frame.

"Keep, ancient lands, your storied pomp!" cries she
With silent lips. "Give me your tired, your poor,
Your huddled masses yearning to breathe free,
The wretched refuse of your teeming shore.
Send these, the homeless, tempest-tost to me,
I lift my lamp beside the golden door!"[12]

#4 "It's not our job to take in people from across the globe who happen to live in bad countries."

Actually, it is our job ...

And thank you, Ms. Laura, for your beautiful reiteration in your #5.

I have always said, you're good people.

What exactly IS your job on this planet?

Do you know what famous person said the essentially the same thing?

Do you not know what happened to him?

Let me refresh you.

Cain said "Am I my brother's keeper?" to God in Genesis 4:9 after murdering his brother, Abel. Driven by jealousy because God accepted Abel's offering but not his, Cain killed his brother, lied to God about it, and was subsequently cursed to be a wandering fugitive

Enjoy your wanderings.

There's another thread where Lumpers lament the decline of America, they can't seem to connect the dots.

Exactly. One would think after reading the attached decision from the judge that this place is pretty good. Healthcare, safety, a future for our residents, including those from Yemen.

We decided it was wrong to deport people back to a war zone. My question, is why deport them at all? They were allowed to be here. They were complying with our laws and the conditions to be here even if it's on a TPS status.

From the decision given:
"And here, the Government does not dispute that, if made to return to Yemen, multiple Plaintiffs will face violence, repression, and retaliation by Houthi-aligned militants."

Why can't they apply for asylum? Its not clear what the point of TPS really is, if asylum isn't part of the possible outcomes (some in the decision were here since 1999). If TPS is "temporary," then why can't everyone from that country come to the US? Is it a asylum lite?

Everyone in the world wants their family and community to "succeed".

You claim you are from China. Is that the culture you wish to succeed?

What exactly is your "culture"? Does your culture know how to "Cowboy"? Does it include Xenophobia? Does it include the ability of those in your community to freely worship, to express themselves without fear of government retribution, and to chart their own economic destiny? And what your the definition of "success" and how does it pertain to America and the American Dream? Do you even understand the American Dream? (Hint: It includes immigrants.)

"The American Dream historically and currently includes immigrants, serving as a core tenet of U.S. culture that promises prosperity through hard work regardless of birthplace. Immigrants are often considered a primary force driving this ideal, showing high levels of optimism and upward mobility, even when native-born citizens are less optimistic.

"The United States is considered a nation built by immigrants, who have played a critical role in its historical, economic, and cultural development. Immigrants have supplied essential labor for nation-building projects, including transportation networks, railroads, and factories, while contributing to industrial and agricultural growth."
