To put it another way, imagine if the primary demographic for covid hospitalizations/deaths had been men under the age of 40.

That's about 1% of Russia's total population. Imagine if the US was invaded another country only to sustained 3.5 million casualties with more than 1 million (mostly men in the prime of their lives) dead.

That is what Putin has delivered to Russia.

Trump never had a peace deal with Iran in the first place. Congress needs to intervene and put a stop to Trump's illegal war.

Trump is trying for a peace treaty.
It seems to be apparent he isn't wanting to go in and crush them like we could do.
To me, that looks like patience and hope backed by a show of strength.

Platner has cancelled all in person upcoming fundraisers and Bernie Sanders has called upon him to drop out.

KY is one of five states where vacant US Senate seats have to be filled by special election instead of appointment by the governor. Their state legislature saw McConnell's failing health and passed that law two years ago to block Andy Beshear from replacing him with a democrat.

Platner is, as the kids say, cooked. He should drop out immediately so the party can officially start the business of selecting a replacement. My recommendation, Troy Jackson. He doesn't have the charisma of Platner but he's a known quantity in Maine politics having served in multiple terms in both the state house and senate. His politics are similar to Platner's so much so that they endorsed each other when Jackson was running for the Democratic primary nomination for governor in the recent election. He lost that one but it was a strange election with Jackson being one of 4 candidates to receive at least 20% of the first place votes in what was a ranked choice election.

I choose to be skeptical of allegations proffered with no actual evidence.

There is evidence. There are communications with her therapist. There are texts and social media posts that supports her claim.

"They are going to find more about the controversies that already follow him such as that nazi tattoo, his views on police, abuse victims, women, lies told about his military service and who knows what else he has hidden. They will find all the dumb stuff he has said on the internet and he's going to spend much of his campaign apologizing and blaming it on PTSD. I won't be surprised to see allegations of domestic abuse and sexual assault surface. GOP voters have shown they are willing to overlook horrible behavior, criminal even, but we are going to end up learning things about Platner that is going to result in a lot of democrats turning their backs on him.

This is nothing but a meaningless stunt by Trump. He pulled the same stunt with the DHS funding bill several months back. His signature is not required. This bill goes into effect on July 4 even if he does not sign it.

He could veto it but but he'd have to convince something like 20 GOP senators to change their vote in order for his veto to withstand challenge.
The only other way to stop it would be for both chambers to be in formal recess so the bill would be subject to pocket veto. The Senate has long had a formal recess scheduled from June 29 to July but the House does not.
This bill had overwhelming bipartisan support in both chambers so it is already unlikely that House Republicans will now attempt to call a formal recess but even if Trump could successfully pressure them to do so, the Senate has to approve a formal House recess and they would not do that.
