Colorado's governor on Friday announced that he is commuting the sentence of former Mesa County Clerk Tina Peters. She's serving time for election interference for allowing unauthorized access to voting machines following the 2020 presidential election. Tampa, Florida "A federal jury has found Desiree Doreen Segari (41, Sarasota) guilty of interstate communication of a threat to injure. Segari faces a maximum penalty of five years in federal prison. Her sentencing hearing is scheduled for May 5, 2026. U.S. Attorney Gregory W. Kehoe made the announcement. Segari was indicted on September 18, 2025. According to evidence presented at trial, on August 17, 2025, Segari posted a video on TikTok calling for MAGA supporters to be shot on sight. Segari stated, "so if we all get our guns and use our second amendment right ... and you see somebody with a MAGA hat, pew pew' that's what we do, that's the way, it's the only way." While saying "pew pew," Segari used hand gestures mimicking the firing of a gun. She further stated,

The Virginia Supreme Court on Friday ruled that the state's redistricting referendum was unconstitutional and struck down the redraw of the state's House maps. "We hold that the legislative process employed to advance this proposal violated Article XII, Section 1 of the Constitution of Virginia," they wrote. "This constitutional violation incurably taints the resulting referendum vote and nullifies its legal efficacy." The decision is a considerable blow to House Democrats, who had hoped to balance out the redistricting efforts of several Republican-leaning states to improve their odds in the November midterms.
