As part of the settlement between the president and the IRS, the DOJ "forever barred and precluded" the IRS from pursuing Trump, his family members, and his companies over any unpaid taxes.

This phenomenon does not just apply to MAGAts.

One drudge.com blogger has repeatedly asked another one to respond to his/her questions.

ZERO responses to answer those simple queries.

But this unresponsive blogger is ready to slime people-- like Coriolanus-- with the worst and most unfounded aspersions.

One drudge.com blogger has repeatedly asked another one to respond to his/her questions.

Sealioning:

Sealioning is a trolling tactic where someone harasses others with endless, bad-faith requests for evidence or "clarification".

Disguised as a polite desire for reasonable debate, the goal is to exhaust the target's patience, derail the conversation, and provoke an angry response.

Key Characteristics:

Feigned Ignorance: The questioner pretends to be unaware of basic facts or easily searchable information to force the other person to do all the labor.

Hyper-Civility: They use polite language (e.g., "I'm just asking questions!") so that if the target gets frustrated and snaps, the troll can act as the victim of an "unreasonable" person.

Relentlessness: They ignore answers and continuously move the goalposts with tangential questions.

Examples: BullJohnson and BullBringer

Nearly 40 years of studying tax cases and dealing with the IRS.

I've NEVER EVEN HEARD of any deal like this, especially a deal which essentially gives carte blanche for his whole family to break the law.

Trump will readily stretch the already wretched decision SCOTUS issued in Trump v United States (2024), and claim what amounts to sovereign immunity. Extending it to his family is quite a stretch, but MAGAts won't mind, the Republicans in coats and ties are cool with it, and the march over the cliff continues apace.

Happy 250th!

Hi Clownshack

Thanks for that info.

The blogger I am referring to does not harasses the troll with repeated queries.

He/she merely asks a single poignant question which is ignored.

By not answering the question, the hypocrisy and duplicity of the troll is exposed.

Right now I am reading Hitler's Secret Bankers by Adam LeBor about Swiss banking complicity with the Third Reich during the Holocaust, stealing millions and millions of dollars from Jewish victims and then not returning the money to the families of the survivors.

How is this not a 'Get Out of Jail Free' card? This would insulate not only Donald Trump, but all members of the Trump family as well as all of their various business endeavors, from ever being audited nor prosecuted even if evidence were to be found that they've committed tax fraud.

And this will set a horrible precedent. What's to stop future presidents from simply suing the government over some perceived grievance and then ordering their DOJ to make a deal which benefits themselves and those close to them, all at the expense of the taxpayers?

Of course, when he finds out it only works after he's input a credit card number and authorized a monthly "donation," he'll just blame Biden while cherry picking quotes from his Trump bible to justify it.

Dan,

"If you think Biden pardoning his family AFTER the PRESIDENT-ELECT had publicly threatened lawfare against them is immaterial, you're a moron."

It's not that lawfare is insignificant.

Trump has been dealing with politically motivated accusations and prosecutions for years. That's lawfare.

What changed is that Democrats largely considered it acceptable when directed at Trump, but now suddenly it's unacceptable when it's aimed at Biden's family.

So Biden responded by pardoning them preemptively.

That makes it difficult to act morally outraged about Trump's DOJ tactics while simultaneously defending Biden's pardons.

My point was simply that once Biden pardoned his family, it severely weakened criticism of Trump on this issue.

" Trump has been dealing with politically motivated accusations and prosecutions for years. That's lawfare."

You've given the definition incorrectly; you're missing the central tenet.

The definition of lawfare is prosecuting someone for an action ANYONE ELSE COULD DO WITHOUT FEAR OF LEGAL REPERCUSSIONS.

Trump was NEVER subject to lawfare, as the courts held time and again.

As for you, you can't name a single one of Trump's 91 indictments which you or I could've done without fear of legal repercussions.

I know: I've been asking for an example of lawfare for years, and no one has been able to come up with any proof of a single example. You remember proof, don't you, Bill?

#43 | Posted by Danforth at 2026-05-20 08:06 AM | Reply | Newsworthy 2

Dan,

"The definition of lawfare is prosecuting someone for an action ANYONE ELSE COULD DO WITHOUT FEAR OF LEGAL REPERCUSSIONS."

Using your definition, you're essentially saying Biden and his family were subjected to lawfare, but Trump wasn't?

I don't agree with your definition, and neither do several that I found.
At its core, lawfare is the use of the legal system as a weapon to intimidate, damage, or politically target opponents.

Honestly, I thought you were going to come back from a different angle.

I figured you'd argue it's only lawfare against Biden because "Biden and his family aren't guilty of anything...it's all trumped up while Trump actually is a criminal" or something along those lines.

(I loved how trumped up worked in so well.)

Selective immunity from tax law for the President and his Family.

That's so 1790's.

The Ancien Regime was well versed on Tax immunity for Kings.

Is Trump an Absolute Monarch?

He's accumulating most of the Perks.

Would Biden have gotten this,

If he did would the Republicans be happy about it?

Trump has Captured the SCOTUS.

I think elections may be in danger of becoming a Formality with no real Substance.

I think the SCOTUS would permit it if the Arguments were "Compelling" enough provided it was Trump doing the Asking.

This Country is Already Screwed.

It is quite interesting the way liberal leaning and conservative leaning people are able to look at the world so differently.

Perhaps the difference between me and you is that I see good and bad virtues in both.

You, apparently, can only see anything positive with liberals, while conservatives are automatically cast as villains.
