It doesn't disappear from radar, just from the public tracking sites like Flightaware and Flightradar24. Those use data from a transponder mounted in the aircraft that broadcasts plane information by radio. It's possible to turn those off, then the flight track will not show on public tracking sites.

I don't think it was professional. That would mean he/she was hired and paid by someone. I have no idea who this Kirk guy was, but he doesn't seem like he was worth a paid hit. Originally, I thought he was the Project Veritas guy.
