Drudge Retort: The Other Side of the News
Thursday, September 11, 2025

Investigators hunting the gunman who killed Charlie Kirk recovered a hunting rifle with ammunition engraved with "transgender and anti-fascist ideology", according to an internal law enforcement update. Authorities believe the sniper fired a single lethal shot at Kirk, 31, the conservative campaigner and Donald Trump confidant, before jumping off a roof overlooking the event at Utah Valley University, and escaping through woodland. The killing of such a high-profile figure in Mr Trump's sphere has sent shockwaves through a nation already battered by political violence and divisions.

Sure it was. OK. A little too on the nose, not even subtle.

Poor Chucky K Used as an excuse to begin the "final solution" for brown people and demoncrats.

He was a POS, and his alleged children will be better off without him.

He would have been more entertaining as a POS who melted down when the things he claimed to believe in cam crashing down.

Chucky K gave his life doing what he believed in!

Trying to get other people killed.

HAHAHAHAHHAHAHAHAHAHAHA

Almost certainly.

Poor little "angy boy".

But it's exactly the kind of caca that will be pushed to justify all kinds of fun from ICE brown shirts.

And you wont do anything :)

Liberal -------- with whacky conspiracy theories make Alex Jones seem sane. This case is simple - we have a mentally ill leftist incited by 24/7 MSM demonization of Republicans.

Well, you're stupid and making comments on things you know nothing about, pretending like you're an expert.

So there's that.

I'll listen to the professionals. Charlie Kirk's assassin not necessarily an expert marksman, former ATF agents say

Only someone that has never shot a rifle with a scope before would state a shot under 200 yards would require an expert marksmen.

I shoot gophers at 200 yards and I'm just an average shot. It's not difficult if the rifle is set up.

125grn .30 hollow point, IMR 4064 - single fired brass only. Dime size groups at 100yds. Quarter size groups at 200 yds. Velocty drops off quickly so 300yds looks kinda messy. This was 30 years ago, I no longer have the rifle or the reloading components. It's really not that hard.

I use 55 grain Nosler Ballistic Silvertips in a .22-250.

I've seen 'experts' on both side of the difficulty issue; not that far a shot, really, but most people aren't lying on a roof shooting at a guy in a tent, over a crowd, while thinking he's prolly about to die in an assassination attempt, and wondering if he can get away.

And he's in his 20's. I doubt it was an easy shot given the circumstances, unless he was an expert himself.

From what I am reading here, it didn't have a scope.

That being said, metal sights 300yds apparently was standard range in military.

True. The shot isn't difficult, but the mental game is certainly a factor. Possibly a psychopath wouldn't be bothered by that stuff?

Oddly, most murderers aren't technically psychopaths.

But this one might be.

I wonder why he didn't just leave it on the roof? It's not like they weren't going to find it anyway.

I doubt it. This was just your run of the mill left wing lunatic incited by the 24/7 media demonization of Republicans.

Mentally ill? Definitely.

Psychopath? Nah.

RE: "expressing transgender and anti-fascist ideology."

"A senior law enforcement official with direct knowledge of the investigation cautioned that the report had not been verified by A.T.F. analysts, did not match other summaries of the evidence and might turn out to have been misread or misinterpreted.

In fast-moving investigations, such status reports are not made public because they often contain a mixture of accurate and inaccurate information."

I still have my 22-250 target rifle. Heaviest gun I ever owned, the barrel is probably an inch across at the muzzle. Still have plenty of unfired brass. Maybe time to start practicing again.

My favorite was the bolt action 30-06 aforementioned, it was a beat up ugly POS but it shot true consistently. It was an old Savage 116 with the grey laminated stock. Should never have gotten rid of it.

My comment was not about the difficulty of the shot. My comment, more specifically the link, is a retort to the angry crank that is absolutely convinced the assassination was by a professional. drudge.com The link cites former ATF agents that list what they would expect to see with a professional hit that is not present in this instance.

In basic I could hit half silhouettes at 250 yds. with an M-16. With a scoped 30.06 from a prone position I would feel confident in making a 200 yd. shot. Well, probably not now since I haven't fired a rifle since I broke my collar bone just before deer season almost 20 years ago.

Don't blame them on the poster you decided it was gospel and then reposted it. Stupidity.
