For the first time in a long time the GOP seems to have the upper hand in a shutdown battle. They are asking for a clean CR. Dems are skiing for more from a position of being in the minority.

Absolutely. Trump had 11 counts of obstruction of justice from the (intentionally crippled) mueller investigation just stitting there at the Justice Department. Biden chose a moderate conservative judge to be the nation's chief prosecutor. That man merrick garland broke his oath of office to protect and defend the constitution from all enemies foreign AND DOMESTIC, and start charging trump with all the crimes he'd stacked up. Instead they did nothing except prosecute trump's foot soldiers for years until they ran out the clock. Simply charging him as an insurrectionist under the 14th ammendment would have barred trump from running again. Never investigated why the saudis gave trump's son in law 2 billion dollars. Never investigated the republicans who were asking trump for pardons after assisting in his fascist coup attempt. Never kicked out the news stations who INTENTIONALLY lied to the country about imaginary election fraud.

Biden was a ----- who was too stuck in the past to comprehend the actual fascist uprising being orchestrated right in front of his face. He really thought trump was just an abberation, Jan 6th was the event that would snap his cult out of their hypnosis, and republicans would go back to normal.

That miscalculation - that republicans aren't really that bad - is what ended the american experiment.

Other countries teach their kids about what fascism is and where it leads, because they lived through it.

We didn't teach that to our kids. So when they hear fascist policies from andrew tate, joe rogan, or charlie kirk, they don't know why they should be skeptical.

I don't have a dog in that fight. I wasn't alive then and those circumstances don't affect me today. They are the past.

What does affect me is the liberal/progressive mindset of those northern states, which everyone is trying to leave and come to the southern states for a quieter pace of life. Problem is, they bring their way of thinking, which isn't compatible with the southern lifestyle.

People don't move to the south because they want a quieter pace, they do it because their old bones can't take the northern winters, or they're out of money and have to move where it's cheap because it sucks there.

The southern lifestyle was separate schools, bathrooms, and water fountains for people like you, hanging you from trees for flirting with a white woman, flags that remind everyone that you fought for slavery, and statues glorifying traitors who fought to keep you in slavery, to remind little black kids who is in charge.

This administration is too busy hunting down people who didn't mourn a podcaster properly to be bothered with defending the nation from foreign espionage.

To us southerners, it means more about southern pride and states rights than anything else. As a southern black man who isn't ghettofied, I don't see racism in it at all.
