I was at my kid's Pop Warner end of season picnic. One of the team moms, her husband is a sheriff's deputy. He was wearing a "Don't Tread on Me" shirt. I was thinking'"You're doing the damn treading"!

I've watched this video many times and I see nowhere that shows him being hit. There's no bounce or sudden movement of his leg. In fact if you look close you can see him stepping to the side just as he shoots.

You have to understand AF is that to guys like BJ, a cops life is worth more than yours or mine. After taking a job and an oath that is well known to be extremely dangerous, they get to perform that job as scared and vulnerable as a toddler lost in the Australian Outback.

I'm not convinced this happened, I've watched numerous videos. Even if she did, how did he know it was intentional? Was there another way to stop the car? Shoot first and ask later is bad policing.

If a cop is placing their own safety over that of those they are paid by to protect them, then they should stay home, that's the safest place to be.
Short answer...yes. A cop should be proud to take a bullet rather than murder an innocent citizen.
