David Kurtz: The top officials at the Justice Department and the FBI have shown themselves again and again to be beholden to the president, spending most of their days fawning over him and trying to stay in the good graces of his White House. They have demonstrated no independence of thought or action from this president.

I was at my kid's Pop Warner end of season picnic. One of the team moms, her husband is a sheriff's deputy. He was wearing a "Don't Tread on Me" shirt. I was thinking'"You're doing the damn treading"!
