I kind of understand how she feels. After this election, I question whether I have the stomach to vote again either. I've pretty much reached the conclusion that the US is too stupid to survive.

Biden should have only run for one term, as he suggested he would in 2020. By waiting so long to step aside, he did not give his party enough time to reorganize. But the most significant problem in the US hands down is the lazy, uninformed voter.

I think a vast majority would happily trade for the period "where high income earners were taxed at 91% and union membership was strong". That was also a period where one earner could more easily support an entire household. If they really thought about it, most Trump supporters would realize that is exactly when they thought America was great.

I currently have a 3000 sq ft house and several vehicles. Sometimes I'm pretty tired of maintaining it all. If it were entirely up to me, I could be pretty happy with much less. The US obsession with consumption and possession is not healthy. When did we decide that owning things or going into excessive debt to possess things is what's necessary to make us happy?
