Denial of insurance because of pre-existing conditions is about to become much more frequent again. All the US healthcare system cares about is separating as many people from their money as possible, before they die. Soon, most will not have the option to pass their meager fortunes to their heirs. A poor jobs report is typically an incentive for interest rate cuts. Increased inflation does the opposite. If we have both at the same time, the Fed has a quandary.

It is interesting that Trump is upset about the poor jobs report and the Fed's lack of rate cuts at the same time. To get the later, Trump should be hoping for the former. It would lead us to believe that Trump is clueless about how this stuff actually works.

First, I know you think your being cute with the Clinton reference. I think most liberals agree, if Clinton did anything nefarious through Epstein, he should be prosecuted like anyone else.

I think that's been pretty clear for quite a while.

I'm sure there is a contingent that would like to ban family caregiving altogether. If family is doing the caregiving, it's much more difficult for the end-of-life industry to empty the bank accounts of the dying.

There have been reports connecting the two since the 1980s, for a long time. This wedding was in 1993. Epstein and Trump parted ways by 2004. That's 11 years. This wedding adds nothing to lengthening the timeline.

I totally believe that Trump is indeed a pedo, a rapist, and guilty of multiple other felonies. And this ongoing scandal may yet be useful at swinging our government back a bit, to some semblance of sanity (probably not).

That said, I've been taking bets for years against the idea that Trump will ever spend a day in prison, after a conviction... for anything. For me to win my bet, Trump literally has to die without going to prison.

There was a person at my wedding, 40+ years ago, who is now in a Wyoming prison for life for killing a convenience store clerk.

Honestly, if corporations are NOT passing the full cost of tariffs through to consumers, I'd say they're proving to all of us that the inflation of the last few years was simply driven by greed. If they hold down prices as they pay tariffs, they're protecting Trumps policies instead of their shareholders.

While I believe Trump was deeply involved in what Epstein was selling, if anyone believes Trumps name will be on anything connected to the scandal that is released by his own Administration, I've got some swampland for sale...

In his defense Luigi did bring some of the problems with the US healthcare system to everyone's attention. All Thompson did was deny care to help shareholders.

We have a corrupt, broken, expensive system. Most of the developed world has figured out how to improve healthcare for their citizens. The US system only helps to line the pockets of for-profit greed fkrs, while generally making actual healthcare inefficient and complicated.

The ACA did not make healthcare more affordable for most people, the Medicaid expansion did that. But the ACA was somewhat successful at making healthcare accessible for more people. Now thanks to MAGA and the Big BS Act, most gains that DID exist will be lost. And more people will needlessly go bankrupt and/or die. ...But I bet you're cheering for that.

I've stopped guessing what Trumps actions may do to the markets. The uncertainty is just to overwhelming.

I will say though... nothing could bring about violent revolution faster than destroying the retirement funds of millions of armed boomers and Gen X'rs. It's hard for me to imagine anything more dangerous to the government than a huge number of retirement aged folks who have nothing left to lose.
