Drudge Retort: The Other Side of the News
Thursday, July 31, 2025

Historian Heather Cox Richardson writes about the impact of Project 2025: " ... six months into the second Trump administration, on the sixtieth anniversary of the law that symbolized the modern American state by establishing Medicare and Medicaid, it's clear we are indeed in a revolution designed to destroy the government we have known in favor of the radical right-wing government envisioned by those who wrote Project 2025."

You're sounding nervous and defensive again.

The Project 2525 people proudly labeled this the "Second American Revolution" months ago.

At the same time they threatened anyone who might oppose it.

This is the world you are creating for you to live in.

(One way of the other, I'm opting out).

You'd better be happy about it. And you'd better own it.

This is what happens when you invest your nation's future based on the success of a single war. Followed by loss after loss after loss... the Nation's fortunes spent on folly... in advance... millions killed... and no cigar... except the installations of bases here or there... just so they know we're still mad at them for defeating us... then boohoo they "confiscated our equipment" the baddies.

Impotent imperialism at work. You can't win a bar fight abroad... so you come home and blame the wife for the beating you're about to give her...

Ted Crudz wants us to do what his daddy fled Cuba to avoid doing... for his own country.

I've never understood why Pubs/Cons have always been the voice of legitimacy in America. In the past they've only been restrained by the leash of honor and duty. Now those concepts have been kicked to the curb. And as always...

It's called Democracy. You all hated Synema and Manchin for opposing it. Well, now they are gone yet the GOP hasn't even considered any of these idiocies.

When Americans learned about Project 2025, they hated it. An NBC News poll from September 2024 showed that only 4% of Americans saw the project favorably. Even among Republicans, that number climbed only to 7%. For those identifying as MAGA Republicans, the number rose to just 9%.

Such a misunderstanding of polls and what they mean. Americans don't hate Project 2025. The fact they don't choose to view it favorably doesn't mean they hate it.

The left tried to use it in the last election. Did it have an impact?

Horrible turnout and even the vast vast majority of republicans, including the MAGA republicans, showed up on election day and voted FOR it. But that poll had them 93%+ unfavorable amongst republicans. (Or 7% favorable....take your pick)

But the reality always rests in how much people care about this issue. The reality is nobody gives a crap about Project 2025 regardless.

It takes a little work to understand it and Americans have zero attention span. If you can't condense a message into a 2 minute read....forget about it.

News reports have stated that it was a personal issue and not political which led to the attack. Nowhere have I read where they've identified the attacker's political leaning, only that they knew each other personally and that this came about as the result of something related to neither the victim being on the city council nor his political party affiliation.

The MAGA version of J6 you won't dare to post here.

You'd look like an idiot. I mean, even more than you do.

You won't stand behind MAGA mythology yet you find reason to question the history I lived through.

You, like Trump, walk both sides of the fence and talk through both sides of your mouth.

Yeah, he really did. And some parts of his agenda I opposed ( and still do), like tariffs. Project 2025 was always a boogeyman. Anyone who paid attention to the 2024 campaign isn't surprised by the policies being enacted. You see, that's how Democracy works. "Elections have consequences."

Why tell such an obvious lie?

The author of Project 2025, Russell Vought, was hand-picked by Trump to head the Office of Management and Budget.

I have nothing to do with Project 2025,' Trump says
"That's out there. I haven't read it. I don't want to read it, purposely. I'm not going to read it."

Republicans hate the first amendment.

They can't stand criticism.

There's no one more fragile than conservatives men.

Right, revolutionary change, as in what every President campaigns on every year but never gets done, reign in the Federal government's uncontrollable waste and fraud.

#45 | POSTED BY FISHPAW

lol these stupid f^*%s still think that's going to happen.

Even after the monstrosity they just forced through against all their previous whines about bills too big to read.

Zero specifics. Nothing concrete promised, no nothing to live up to.

They are just reciting the same rhetoric to try and groom us, that worked on them.

46%? Wow? Some overlap between that conservative document and policies pursued by a Republican president?

Oh the horror!!!

This is the result of winning an election. Fortunately, the guardrails you hated during the last term still exist.

Stay butt hurt or work toward winning the next election and try to build momentum.

You can count on BullBringer to downplay the complete authoritarian overhaul of the federal government by a fascist movement.

Why?

Because they promised him they'd hurt immigrants and LGBTQ Americans.

#81 | Posted by ClownShack at 2025-07-31 11:57 PM | Reply

More overlap between Das Kapital' and the Obama administration than Trump and Project 2025.

#82 | Posted by BellRinger at 2025-08-01 12:03 AM | Reply

Donald Trump's name appears 312 times in the Project 2025 document.

He's also on the Epstein list and has been accused of rape and been found guilty of sexual assault.

So BullBringer mentions Obama.

Whose skin color he abhors.
