Trump gained all of 39,691 votes. That is a 0.00053 increase. From what I see, he lost republicans and gained in some democratic (previous) groups. Dearborn, MI was a big loss for Democrats and gain for Trump. May they reap the full benefits for that decision. Latino men loved Trump being macho, even if they detested his policies. Awesome, they can swoon while they get screwed by his policies. Economically speaking, many wanted old time prices back. Guess what? Prices aren't going down. That's not how it works. The dollar was devalued and these are the new normal prices. Only way* to change that is if we experience significant deflation - and that would be catastrophic.

So sit back an enjoy the ride, folks. It's going to be interesting.

* there are other ways, like a huge increase in productivity that can drive costs down, but for the typical 'basket' we're talking about, that is just not going to happen.

I just listened to an interview of a latino family and their son. The adult son didn't like Trump at first, but he grew to like him because "He (Trump) says what he thinks and doesn't care" and the son "respect him for that."

The Mom and Dad said they came here "illegally" but they aren't like the new ones coming. They were good people. Like all the friends and people they know that are also Latino that are around them. "Trump will get rid of those bad ones" (paraphrased, but close).

The Mom and Dad were granted amnesty under Reagan and are now "legal."

I know some people that vote for "their team" no matter what.
I know others that just aren't informed at all, but know they are Republicans and Trump was nominated and so they are voting for him.
I know many people whose memories aren't accurate and they honestly believe they were MUCH better off under Trump. That is historically inaccurate, and the timeline is clear about that, but they believe that.
I know a lot of people that are white older males that feel that they are losing America to all those immigrants. Doesn't matter if they are legal or 'illegal' and they want that loss of their identity stopped.
Economy is a big one, but the truth of the economy will not breakthrough to them because they know (I believe they know) that there isn't actually a fix, so they'll just blame the democrats and all those others - the ones they are letting in - for all the problems.
I overheard this conversation about all these problems these two said we have needing to stop - and the first step in doing that is closing the border TIGHT and getting rid of all the "illegals."
