Behind the Curtain: 6% of Six States to Decide Election

The titanic Biden-Trump election likely will be decided by roughly 6% of voters in just six states, top strategists in both parties tell us.

More

Each side will spend billions to reach those voters over the next six months.

Comments

Roughly 244 million Americans will be eligible to vote. But 99.5% of us won't be deciders:

We won't vote. Or we always vote the same way. Or we live in states virtually certain to be red or blue.

Zoom in: Both campaigns are obsessed with six states " Arizona, Georgia, Michigan, Nevada, Pennsylvania and Wisconsin.

Those were the battlegrounds disputed by Donald Trump after the 2020 election. And they're the '24 toss-ups, as rated by The Cook Political Report with Amy Walter.

A seventh state, North Carolina, is included in some swing-state polls. It's rated "Lean R" by Cook. The other 43 states are either "solid" or "likely" for one of the parties."

This thread certainly makes a more valuable point than the one you posted about the national poll. This same point was correct in 2016.

The change in recent years is that education in more important than race in elections.

And the less educated, the more Trump voters.

The article points out what has to happen in swing states for each candidate to win.

It may all come down to Pennsylvania, they say.

This is why I preach to people to pay attention to the local races which impact your lives more anyway.

And your vote matters...unlike the presidential election.

Think about how much trolling and personal attacks occur on this place over a vote that has a 99.5% chance of being meaningless.

But not the other elections for state rep, school board, city council, etc.

Pay attention.

This from a DNC shills. I find that funny.

Polls still say that a conviction of any kind will kick Trump's numbers down enough to cost him the election, as it should.

That may also be true of the reporting on the ongoing Trials of the Fake Electors, which are being held in these same swing states, where Trump is an unindicted co-Conspirator.

^Good points.

Curious question: Since 99.5 percent of us probably won't really matter in the Presidential election, does anyone who actively participates on this site live in any of those purple states? I do not.

neither do I.

Since Laura doesn't live in one of those purple states, and Laura's Presidential vote likely won't matter, could we all give it a rest?

She started it!! lol

After all these years of voting in California, where Democrats win damn near everything, I now reside in deep purple Arizona. My vote might actually count!

That said, since this is America, I will soon start a Go Fund Me page.

You may donate to influence me to vote for the candidate of your choice. Whichever gets the highest total, I will vote for that candidate.

Honest!

This is the most important election in history! Plan early and think big! Democracy depends on you.

The polls said Hillary was a shoe in.

All the DNC has at this point is "bad man Trump go to jail"

Honestly, what are they selling the people on other than Trump is in court? People absolutely know their money is damn near worthless, energy is up, food is gold plated and all this administration does is blame Trump one minute and blame companies the next. No one wants to hear who's fault it is anymore, they want the ---- fixed and Biden isn't doing it.

Prediction: You get 4 more years of Trump

#18 | Posted by lfthndthrds at 2024-05-06 10:17 PM

The companies ARE to blame you ----------!

The POTUS doesn't set prices...companies do...
The POTUS doesn't set the value of the currency...the banks and loan officers do...

And you would put a would be dictator and known despot, liar, and racist in his
place, and think things will get better?! You are hopeless.

Wisconsin here. And i'd trade my vote's outsized power for a national popular vote in a heartbeat.

The polls said Hillary was a shoe in.

All the DNC has at this point is "bad man Trump go to jail"

The DNC had clear policies going forward. Even if you don't know them.

Trumpy is currently in court being judged by a jury of his peers. The DNC had nothing to do with it. Trumpy brought it upon himself.

And then there are 7 months to go before the October Surprises.

And currently Trumpy is the "shoe in". But as I just said, there are 7 months to go. Your prediction is worthless at this point.

"they want the ---- fixed and Biden isn't doing it."

lol

And you actually believe Trumpy is gonna "fix" anything for you?

You one funny magat. Trumpy loves the uneducated!
