Florida Governor Ron DeSantis announced today that Florida welcomed a record-breaking 34.2 million visitors during the second quarter of 2024, marking a 1.7% increase over the same period in 2023 and setting a new all-time high for second-quarter tourism in the state's history. "Florida continues to be the top destination for tourists," said Governor DeSantis. "These remarkable numbers are a testament to our commitment to public safety, freedom, and sensible leadership, making the Free State of Florida an even more attractive place to visit." Florida remains a leader in tourism, drawing 31.5 million domestic visitors in Q2 2024, up 1.8% from last year. International visitation also saw a 1.8% increase, with 2 million overseas travelers and around 739,000 Canadians choosing Florida as their vacation destination.
