... The move means that it's unlikely a so-called mini-trial, which would include evidence and testimony from possible blockbuster witnesses like former Vice President Mike Pence, would take place before the presidential election.

Such a hearing would have been the best chance for voters to review evidence about Trump's efforts to overturn the 2020 election result as he campaigns to regain the White House. ...

@#@ ... Anyone who isn't a Russian stooge or an inbred incel knows what happened. ...

While I consider myself to be neither of those.

I am curious about your opinion of the reason why it occurred.

thx.

So....

A significant accusation.

With nothing to back it up?

Makes me wonder about both the alias that posted it, and also the aliases that flagged it as NW.

They seem to have an opinion on this topic, bt seem to be afraid to express that opinion...

I ask a simple question: I am curious about your opinion of the reason why it occurred.

And I see nothing.

For the same reason Judge Merchan isn't going to sentence Trump to jail on September 18.

A claim of election interference.

Just a guess.

Sure. Why not let the candidate who did everything he could to cheat to win, another opportunity.

Stupid stupid stupid.

@#5 ... For the same reason Judge Merchan ...

At this point, Judge Merchan has earned my respect for how he has acted in this case.

But, I'm not yet convinced that is the reason for the delay.

Judge Merchan seems to work at a deeper level than that.

Of course, I may be wrong. :)

...
I remember a time, rompin' through the woods
Sun against our skin instead of clothes
When we felt hungry we would eat, when we felt glad we'd dance
And whenever we felt drowsy we would doze

It was so easy then, never takin' any stands
It was so easy then, holdin' hands

I remember a time when our fears could be named
And courage meant not refusing dares
I remember when we took such cares to step never on the cracks
Not only in the squares
Or else we'd be abducted by the bears

It was so easy then, never makin' any plans
It was so easy then, holdin' hands
...

CLOWN

A pre-trial isn't going to stop a man as desperate as Trump from cheating.

We can't get into Jack Smith's head but it's a safe bet he knows what he's doing better than anybody who is second-guessing him.

I doubt if even Trump's legal team has a clue.

Rich people's justice...Trump got to name his own judge in the Florida case, got to name three of the Supreme Corrupt Court Justices who ruled he was exempt from following the law in many cases...and his lawyers are able to spend tens of millions appealing to every court everywhere...

I suspect Jack Smith thinks there's a better than 50/50 shot that Harris wins the election, and he doesn't want to give away his hand in what might turn out to be his only chance to hold Orange Adolf accountable.

GUNSLINGER

I was thinking the same thing about turning over discovery before the coast was clear to set a trial date.

Without cameras in the courtroom, the public wasn't going to find out anything they didn't already know anyway.
