FDA Recalls Eggs Because of Salmonella Threat

FDA) recalled eggs that it said "will cause serious adverse health consequences or death." These products, sold in Michigan, Wisconsin, and Illinois, have been linked to a salmonella outbreak.

The FDA said symptoms could occur 12 to 72 hours after eating food that is contaminated with Salmonella, and the symptoms usually last four to seven days. Symptoms could include diarrhea, fever and abdominal cramps.

65 people across nine states have gotten sick from the same strain of Salmonella, 24 people were hospitalized and no deaths have been reported.

The FDA issued the first alert on 6 Sep but has now upgraded the recall to Class I.
