Merry Festivus

For those folks who may be finding that holiday cheer is hard to come by, there is an alternative to the cheery decking of the halls. There is an available option to celebrate a holiday and maintain a healthy dose of grumpiness. That's right " there is Festivus. December 23 is Festivus, a day reserved in history for all who feel that the normal holiday traditions don't quite fit the bill. Festivus is a special holiday reserved for those more apt to want to embrace their inner "bah, humbug!" than their Christmas spirit. It's a fair guess that more of us may be in that camp than ever before and the antidote, or at least an outlet that might prove cathartic, is Festivus.

More

Festivus harks back to sitcoms of years past. The farcical holiday was birthed on the TV show "Seinfeld" on December 18, 1997, when George Costanza, played by Jason Alexander, revealed that his father (played by the late Jerry Stiller) created the day to contrast the religious and commercial aspects of the traditional December holidays.

I've got a lot of problems with you people.

After this last election, it's a Festivus miracle I'm even standing here today. Between the political ads that could put Ambien to shame and the constant barrage of polls that swing wilder than a cat on a caffeine high, I'm surprised I haven't spontaneously combusted from sheer frustration! And don't even get me started on the debates. It's less about policy and more about who can sling the most mud without getting their suit dirty. It's enough to make a guy want to move to a desert island with nothing but a volleyball for company.

Methinks there will be an airing of grievances at the Gaetz household this evening. Matty could be a victim of feats of strength delivered by his wife's foot ...

Ever notice how liberals often reserve their mockery for Christianity while avoiding the traditions of other religions?

Could it be because Christianity carries a message they find unsettling on a deeper level?

Why? Because their souls recognize what their minds deny, and their conscience cannot ignore it.

Jesus is God.

Seinfeld helped get Trump elected.

Being someone who was only 7 when the series ended, I've tried watching it many times but each time I just see a program of 4 conceited, two-dimensional New Yawkers living in an intellectually stunted echo chamber where boorish or horrible behavior is basically considered the norm and perfectly acceptable and sometimes even rewarded. That's Trump in a nutshell. Although I never experienced the show's phenomenon firsthand, it seems that Sienfeld normalized that type of behavior- at least for the behavior in those older than 30

I didn't have the opportunity like many here to watch the progression of television over the last 50+ years, but I have gone back and watched comedies from the 70s and 80s and even some from the 90s and I must admit that the ones in the late 70s and 80s were much, much better (and the female characters are far more attractive). The only ones from the 90s that I think are pretty good are News Radio and maybe 3rd Rock From the Sun.

FYI, SpongeBob was my fav show my whole childhood through college so have at me.

Who knew?

That was a year ago, so I just missed it. Always liked him as a neuroscientist; he has a metaphysical side, but he also seems to have evolved well spiritually.

Jesus is not God. He prayed to the Father God. The Christ is God, the only child of God is the Christ. Jesus was the Christ of the Piscean Age. The Christian Churches deliberately confuse people. Jesus was a man who became the Christ at the age of 30, when he was baptized and the dove landed on his head, and God spoke from the heavens and proclaimed that Jesus had been christed. His ministry lasted 3 years as the Christ. Christ is his title, which is a Greek word Kristos meaning the anointed one, or the Messiah. Other Christs in the Bible were Enoch, the Initiate and Melchezedich, also known as the Prince of Peace. The Christ manifests at the beginning of each age, we are now entering the Aquarian Age. @aquarianthunderproductions. Peace to all; good will to all. If you see the Son you will see the Father and the Mother God (The Holy Spirit) because they are One " The Trinity or the Triune God. But most people judge with their carnal eyes and do not know how to see with the eyes of soul and they are thus blind even though they can see. Et voila. He who has ears to hear and eyes to see and an understanding heart will understand the words that I speak.

Ever notice how the religions that come in for deep criticism (yea, even in the form of satire and ridicule) are those whose manipulators and manipulated just can't leave other people alone and are often downright threatening about it. Here, the two largest Abrahamic outfits deserve special mention.
