... As they celebrated Thanksgiving on Thursday, each of Connecticut's five U.S. representatives, as well as Sen. Chris Murphy, received threats, all of which were later shown to have been hoaxes.
As of Friday, law enforcement agencies had provided little information about the threats. A spokesperson for the U.S. Capitol Police acknowledged the threats but declined to share details or say whether congressional representatives from states beyond Connecticut were targeted.
"Anytime a Member of Congress is the victim of a 'swatting' incident, we work closely with our local and federal law enforcement partners,' the spokesperson said, referring to the practice of calling emergency services to direct them toward a particular address. "To protect ongoing investigations and to minimize the risk of copy-cats, we cannot provide more details at this time."
A spokesperson for Murphy said the senator's home in Hartford "was the target of a bomb threat, which appears to be part of a coordinated effort involving multiple members of Congress and public figures." ...
