OK, who is this Vought person?

Project 2025 "Chief Architect" Russ Vought Backs Trump's Plans to Rip Away Health Care While Giving Tax Handouts to Billionaires
democrats.org

... In response to Russ Vought making it clear he backs Donald Trump's toxic billionaire agenda during his Senate hearing today, DNC Rapid Response Director Alex Floyd released the following statement:

"Donald Trump spent his first days in office trying to rip away access to health care while laying the groundwork for another tax handout for billionaires " and his pick for OMB Director Russ Vought made it clear today he'll help Trump go even further to enact his extreme Project 2025 agenda. While Trump and Vought go to bat for ultra-wealthy special interests, Democrats will keep fighting for working families and holding Trump accountable for his toxic Project 2025 blueprint."

Russ Vought owns his authorship of Donald Trump's extreme and unpopular Project 2025's agenda " especially its chapter on the executive branch he's trying to serve in.

Sen. Ben Ray Lujan: "Mr. Vought you authored chapter two of Project 2025 titled Executive Office of the President of the United States,' correct?"

Vought: "Yes, sir."

Vought defended giving hundreds of thousands of dollars a year in tax handouts to ultra-wealthy billionaires while leaving hardworking Americans out in the cold.

Sen. Jeff Merkley: "Now according to the Treasury Department analysis produced this month, the Trump tax giveaways would give an average tax cut of $314,000 to the richest Americans, the top 0.1%, and $6 annually to the average member of the bottom 10%. A cup of coffee for those trying to get on their feet in the course of a year and $300,000 in additional income for the richest Americans. Isn't this kind of ass backwards?" ...

What power does the OMB have within the Federal government?

#3 | Posted by LampLighter at 2025-01-23 09:33 PM

@#3 ... What power does the OMB have within the Federal government? ...

Hint: it is very significant. Very Significant.

Pres Trump's nominee to lead the OMB could be one of his most important nominees. OK, maybe an exaggeration, but not too much of an exaggeration.

So, why did he nominate the apparent lead of Project 2025 for this slot?

The OMG manages the budget. You know how the federal government spends its money.

Now consider impoundment, which is the President withholding congressionally budgeted moneys.

THIS IS ALREADY HAPPENING.

------- has issued orders to stop IRA and Infrastructure funding. He does not have the authority to do that.

I tried to tell you. I really did.

Magat scum will learn soon.

The country is shifting radically, do you feel the shakes yet?

@#5 ... THIS IS ALREADY HAPPENING. ...

... and the Republicans seem to be falling in line in favor of it.

Maybe wanting for their chance to kiss the most ample derriere of Pres Trump?

The rich will rule like British royalty, inherited wealth will make them lords and ladies and own pretty much everything, certainly our Congress. I am glad I am an old man with not that much time left, because I very, very truly have no confidence in America's ability to right the ship of state...at best we are, will be Russia, with a pretend democracy and pretend rule of law.
Actually, I could amend the first sentence to be ..."the rich are ruling like royalty of old...".

The Trump Horde wants tax breaks for rich folks because they think they will get to wet their beaks, via trickle down economics. Trump voters didn't get more than a few coins the last time around, but think they got fat stacks. The Horde will get almost zero in round two, but they will pay for the tax cuts with spending cuts left right and center-death by a thousand cuts ...

Trump voters didn't get more than a few coins the last time around, but think they got fat stacks.

Not only that but they were temporary and started fading when the next guy was in office. I lost count of the number of Trump voters who thought Biden raised their taxes. I tried to explain how the Trump tax cut was structured but it didn't take too long before I would see eyes glazing over and them saying right so my taxes went up cause Biden.

Retiring from the federal government just before Trumpy threw it into chaos and destroyed it and the careers of tens of thousands of public servants may have been the smartest thing I ever did.

Think of OMB (the Office of Management and Budget) as the
very real purse strings of the Government (or the quarterback
that details to Congress it's plans for the budget). You want to
cut the budget w a hacksaw/chainsaw/whatever, the head of
the OMB proposes that, and Congress ratifies it or doesn't.

That the head of Project 2025, a plan which guts the Middle Class
in favor of more tax breaks for the rich, is set to head the OMB,
SHOULD send shivers down the spines of most Americans. But then again
(as we saw in this most recent election), half of the country is too
dumb to know any better.

You wanted cuts redneck GOP, well they are coming. Straight at your
welfare and your retirement...
