Taking Heart

Robert Reich: There's nothing normal about this. We're in a different world now. Even calling this "Trump 2.0" radically understates what's happening. The choice is democracy or dictatorship. Self-government or oligarchy. Everyone must choose sides. Not to choose is to accept the forces now in control--to allow Trump to become even more of a dictator and his billionaire backers and cronies to siphon up even more oligarchic wealth and power.

More

It seems like an eternity, but Tuesday marks the seventh week of this despicable regime. I'd like to talk about coping with the stresses of this era. https://robertreich.substack.com/p/taking-heart

FTA:

I no longer pay attention to the politicians, media personalities, political operatives, and pundits who are treating what's happening as a variation on normal partisan politics. They're tiresome and wrong.

Instead, I'm seeking out voices who understand the stakes, who give me reasons for hope and practical ideas for what you and I can do.

He's lying and so is Gal, should add, "so long as it doesn't go against the Lumper narrow narratives".

Up next a racist post by ihitsbot! And Gal will ignore it. I have him blocked but just a hunch.

The Democratic party needs to step up and fight back instead of cowering in fear of alienating their corporate donors. Sadly Hakeem Jefferies is the Merrick Garland of the Susan Collins of the Democratic party. Sad to see.

Some Dems are stepping up

@aoc.bsky.social: "Listen, if your representative is not doing a town hall, give me a ring... I'll say it right here, right now: if a deep red Republican district wants to have an honest conversation, even if it's with someone they disagree with, I'm willing to do that."

I so LOVE AOC. it's a disgrace that Pelosi pushed her aside for that 77 year old for that committee position. They need to retire to let in younger people.

The choice is democracy or dictatorship.

Trump is elected with democracy, leftist bloggers is not elected yet they want to control everything.

Trump is elected with democracy,

No he wasn't.

The presidency is the only elected office that's actually won by representatives. It's the part of America that's a Republic.
