"It was a good conversation, but not a conversation that will lead to immediate Peace," Trump wrote on Truth Social.

The Kremlin later confirmed the call, which came as fighting continues more than three years after Russia invaded Ukraine.

"President Putin did say, and very strongly, that he will have to respond to the recent attack on the airfields," the president added.

Trump's post did not say if he discouraged Putin from taking that action during their 75-minute conversation.

"We also discussed Iran, and the fact that time is running out on Iran's decision pertaining to nuclear weapons, which must be made quickly!" Trump wrote."

"It was a Big Beautiful Conversation! Putin still loves me, but he's going to really make trouble for Ukraine for the Terrorist Act of defending themselves by attacking Military Targets."

time is running out on Iran's decision pertaining to nuclear weapons, which must be made quickly!

Trump is a joke.

Ukraine is doing everything possible to stop the peace process and bring on WW3. The fact of the matter is that the attack on Nordstream by Ukraine should have been considered an attack against NATO and not a single dollar given to them. At this point, I am fine tossing guys like Lindsey Graham into jail as a traitor based on his Ukraine actions. Not one dollar, not one American life should be given for Ukraine.

#4 | Posted by ScottS at 2025-06-04 07:33 PM

It's entirely in the interests of the United States to support Ukraine.

At this moment they are more Americans than Americans are.

I hope that we can be like them again.

So, not peace in Ukraine on Day 1, or Day whatever?

@#4 ... Ukraine is doing everything possible to stop the peace process and bring on WW3. ...

How so?

Pres Zelensky has been quite open about attending peace talks, and it looks like Pres Putin does not want to show up.

And then there is the simple fact ... Pres Putin did an unprovoked invasion of a sovereign Ukraine.

So if Pres Putin is so concerned about peace, all he has to do is stop his unprovoked invasion and return all of Ukraineback to Ukraine.

And, fwiw, that WW3 comment is straight out of the Kremlin. Is that where your current alias is getting its talking points?

El Rey Dotardo II wants to make a deal fast. Why? He is such a poor negotiator that searching for solutions with the party on the other side of the table is beyond his capabilities, which amount to bluster, bullying and BS. The TACO syndrome is evident in his attempts at negotiating because he just wants to move onto the next sale, like anyone else whose life is built around transactions.

Hey, Rey, want to make a fast deal? The Vlad the wardog that your patience is at an end, and that to protect yourself from criticism you are authorizing a big delivery of military equipment and hardware to Ukraine for their use in whatever manner they see fit. And you will continue to make such deliveries as necessary until Russia comes to the negotiating table in a serious manner. Deliver the first batch, make a show of it and see what happens. Vlad will come around ...

"At this moment they are more Americans than Americans are.
#5 | Posted by Zed"

You are a Canadian. You have no idea what an American is other than from TV. The US has ZERO interest in Ukraine - whether it becomes part of Russia or becomes a nuclear wasteland. It will change nothing for us. For Europe, it is a bit different as they feed the continent. But, it is not our battle to fight.

#11 | Posted by ScottS at 2025-06-04 08:18 PM

@#10

Yup.

Pres Trump seemed to give Pres Putin what he wanted a month or two or three ago, e.g., no NATO for Ukraine and no US troops helping to protect Ukraine's democratic sovereignty.

Apparently, realizing how easily Pres Trump seemed to have given up the store before negotiations even started, Pres Putin now wants even more.

The "art of the deal" of the "art of the surrender?"

#12 | Posted by LampLighter at 2025-06-04 08:21 PM

@#11 ... The US has ZERO interest in Ukraine ...

Support for Greater U.S. Role in Ukraine Climbs to 46% High (March 2025)
news.gallup.com

...
Story Highlights

- - - 53% want U.S. to help Ukraine reclaim territory, even if it prolongs conflict

- - - 63% of Americans think neither side is winning the war

- - - More concern that Russia than Ukraine would violate peace deal, 79% vs. 26% ...

So, still with the Russia-issued talking points?

#13 | Posted by LampLighter at 2025-06-04 08:24 PM

Zelensky's actions will likely force Putin's hand to now demand an unconditional surrender of Ukraine and its partitioning and/or full annexation by Russia. Europe will probably find that unacceptable but also fighting a war that they cannot win without Russia nuking the entire continent. In no conceivable world will Europe or NATO roll tanks into Moscow to force Russia's defeat. It will nuke the world first.

So, the very goal of Europe escalating CANNOT be achieved unless they want the world to end.

He did for the US - at the end of the day, that is what really matters.

The only surprise is how ------- liberals want the killing to continue. At least Trump is trying - Biden threw fuel on the fire. That is what Europe is doing now. If they want to do this, we cannot stop them. It is sad - but, it is not our concern.

"Any nuclear war would also destroy Russia, even without US participation,
#17 | Posted by Zed"

Yes, it will. And the Russians will accept that before accepting defeat from NATO or Europe. That is not in the best interest of the US or the world. But, that is what Ukraine wants - and I should clarify - what ZELENSKY wants, not the Ukrainian people. Zelensky is not making it out of this alive and he knows it.

#19 | Posted by ScottS at 2025-06-04 08:53 PM

@#14 ... Zelensky's actions will likely force Putin's hand to now demand an unconditional surrender of Ukraine ...

More Putin talking points?

Pres Putin can simply stop his unprovoked invasion of a sovereign Ukraine, and return illegally seized territories to a sovereign Ukraine.

That would result in peace, not WW3.

#20 | Posted by LampLighter at 2025-06-04 09:00 PM

#23 | Posted by moder8 at 2025-06-04 09:09 PM

LOL, war they cannot win? Are you effing serious? Little Ukraine has accomplished the death of ONE MILLION Orcs. Their drones just knocked out a significant number to Russia's long-range bomber wing. The Russians are so ill-prepared they thought that stacking tires on the wings of the bombers was a drone defense. If we had kept supplying Ukraine they might have pushed the Russians back to the orriginal borders by now. Russian tanks are so piss poor they can't stand up to to a $1000 drone attack. They've suffered such great losses that Russia had to press decommissioned 30-year-old tanks back into service. They're driving around Ukraine with big wire bird cages covering them to protect from drones and they're STILL getting slaughtered. With NATO weapons and personnel, our former allies would decimate Putin. Russia was never a military power, it's a hollow shell with so much graft and corruption that they had a fraction of the arms that their records suggested. They had to get second grade artillery shells from NK that blew up prematurely destroying several artillery pieces, and crap drones from Iran. What this war has demonstrated is that western weapons are far superior to anything Russia is making, and that every Ukrainian military member and their President are far braver than any member of Team Bone Spurs and his family.

#24 | Posted by _Gunslinger_ at 2025-06-04 09:09 PM

Trump won't have anything to do with it.

Putin's nukes are likely as effective as his conventional arms.

Problem is, nobody wants to push that to find out.

If Putin didn't have nukes, he'd have been rolled over and buried long ago.

Zelenskyy and Ukraine could not do what they have been doing without their fighting a patriotic war.

That "last little showpiece" will ensure European support and armament no matter what the Surrender Monkey in Chief does here.

It was both a tactical and strategic victory.

"They were supposed to meet in turkey and the little cross dressed pulls this stunt."

I don't get it. Was there supposed to be a ceasefire? Did Zelensky violate some agreement with Russia, or the rules of war?

I don't think so. Rather, Putin simply got caught with his pants down, just in time for their meeting. What's the problem?

#39 | Posted by snoofy at 2025-06-05 04:48 PM

Putin was readying the very bombers that Ukraine destroyed to kill more Ukrainians the day before the meeting was supposed to take place.
