HUD ends FHA mortgages for illegal immigrants

"Today, HUD terminated Biden's taxpayer-backed FHA mortgages for illegal aliens," Turner wrote on X. "American taxpayers will no longer subsidize open borders by offering home loans to those who enter our nation illegally."

How many illegals were getting FHA mortgages?

How many victory laps y'all gonna be taking for this one, just curious.

"How many illegals were getting FHA mortgages?"

Nobody knows; maybe none:

FHA loans offer government-insured mortgages to ensure that lower-income individuals have access to home ownership. While illegal immigrants are technically ineligible to obtain FHA-backed home loans under U.S. law, HUD's announcement will strengthen enforcement mechanisms to ensure that illegal immigrants are not abusing the program in the future. It is unclear how many illegal immigrants have obtained FHA-backed loans."

PS I won't be surprised if the DOGE boys end up cutting back or even eliminating the FHA mortgage program that Turner is supposedly making sure illegals don't gain access too.

Sure seems like all this does is add more paperwork for people applying for FHA mortgages.

All this talk about illegal immigrants buying houses, who would actually be owner occupiers which is the #1 thing to improve the value of a neighborhood. No concern for the legal foreigners buying up American properties and letting them sit idle...

Considering a ssn is a basic requirement before getting a $100,000+ home loan, how accurate is the headline?

Negative, Ghostrider.

Read the article and do a little research.

ITINs are given in lieu of SSNs these days, and you can get one even if you're an undocumented immigrant.

Citizenship should be the first and only step towards all government benefits. But Democrats prefer to giveaway citizenship rights to invaders and illegals.
