Musk Blinks First in Trump Feud That Cost Him $34 Billion

When Elon Musk and Donald Trump joined forces during the presidential campaign, there was always a question over how long their alliance would last and who would prevail if it didn't work out.

From space travel to military operations to the future of green energy, the U.S. has become reliant on Elon Musk's business empire. But it won't be easy for the government to end its reliance on Musk.

"After the fight wiped a record $153 billion from the market value of the electric carmaker Thursday and dragged down broader indexes, it became clear how much Musk had to lose.

And he blinked, pulling back from a threat to idle SpaceX's astronaut-carrying vehicle and heeding online advice to stand down from his attacks."

To be fair, his black eye may not have actually blinked.

He so poor now he can't even afford make up.

Why should a man who is always going to worth billions of dollars care if Donald Trump will cost him some billions of dollars?

I assume because he's greedy, and because he's just a natural-born coward.

Both of these ------- -------- can burn for eternity.

Not a surprise that Mr Musk seems to have blinked first.

Here within the US, Pres Trump is supreme, just ask him.

So, where does the Musk-Trump bromance go from here?

Will they kiss and make up?

Until TACO.

Too bad that Popwatch isn't around anymore. The TACO meme is right up his alley. Just sayin

@#7 ... Until TACO. ...

That aspect remains to be seen.

OK, that aspect aside, one thing that has been in my concern about the US embracing Mr Musk's technologies is the following ...

Mr Musk does not seem to be to me what I would call a stable person.

So, given that presumption, what might happen when a Country starts basing its technology upon the companies owned by that person, instead of developing those technologies itself?

Asked differently, is that one of the reasons why Mr Musk wreaked havoc upon the support of US research by the US government?

Mr Musk does not seem to be to me what I would call a stable person.

He's not. That's the fun part. No predicting what he might do. Hard to tell if he's driven by the money, or driven by the crazy.

@#10 ... He's not. That's the fun part. ...

Yeah, it may be fun to observe.

But what happens when a Country, i.e. the United States, starts to rely upon such an apparent unstable person?

Pretty sure it was the drugs. Money definitely helps.

Were it not for the citizenship thing, Elon would be President right now.

...
[Verse 1]
I feel so extraordinary
Something's got a hold on me
I get this feeling I'm in motion
A sudden sense of liberty
I don't care, 'cause I'm not there
And I don't care if I'm here tomorrow
Again and again, I've taken too much
Of the things that cost you too much

[Chorus]
I used to think that the day would never come
I'd see delight in the shade of the morning sun
My morning sun is the drug that brings me near
To the childhood I lost, replaced by fear
I used to think that the day would never come
That my life would depend on the morning sun
