"Political courage is not outdated in the United States. At every level of government, leaders are putting country first, and not backing down.

Despite our political differences, it is hard to imagine an act of greater consequence than Vice President Pence's decision to certify the 2020 presidential election during an attack on the U.S. Capitol," Kennedy and Schlossberg said.

"Upholding his oath to the Constitution and following his conscience, the Vice President put his life, career, and political future on the line.

His decision is an example of President Kennedy's belief that an act of political courage can change the course of history."

Well done! Will Lewzer be presenting this personally at the Kennedy Center?

Or will he be entertaining the Vladimir Open at Lewzer Bedford Golf Club & Cemetery that weekend?

While I have mixed emotions about this, we can all have the solace of knowing that this will drive Trump completely nuts.

Will Lewzer be presenting this personally at the Kennedy Center?

Dotard will douse him with bear spray.

Trump should be forced to give the award to Pence.

That is, if he can tear himself away from his $20,000,000 per trip golf outings in Florida.

He did not do the right thing in Trumpy's eyes.

He can get all the medals that exist but he will never be forgiven by maga maroons.

An act of courage? Or was it to save himself?

I ask because I find it hard to forget the four years Pence spent being Trump's background bobblehead, standing there like a Spinx when he knew Trump had intentions to set America up for the kill.

Real courage would have been to resign as Vice President long before January 6 and start exposing Trump for the lying fake that he was then . . . and continues to be now.

Doing what's required of you by virtue of the positionyou hold is what normals call "business as usual."
Whatever else he may be, Mike Pence is no profile in courage.

Profile and award for ONE DAY of courage and patriotism and defending the Constitution.

4 years of subservience and going along. Thanks Mike, You earned it?

Pence is likely to be the last republican name ever seen in the same sentence as courage and it's a massive reach for it to be done.

- Mike Pence is no profile in courage.

He only stands out from his fellow Republicans in that they are even more unpatriotic cowards than he is.... though yer right, not by much.

One would hope the award would inspire more members of the Republican Party to protect the country from this current administration. One wouldn't bet the ranch however that that will happen any time soon. I have little doubt that if somehow the Republican Party wins and keeps the House in the midterms, ss and medicare and medicaid and other vital programs will be cut even more.
Hard to believe that a man worth 400 billion dollars can be so cruel.
Trump has never been anything but cruel, at least since he ran for office.
